Private beta — Android

The internet goes down.
Mycelium doesn't.

Chat, coordinate, and pay using only the devices already in people's pockets — no cell towers, no servers, no internet required.

Built for when it matters most
🌊

Natural disaster

Coordinate rescue operations, share locations, relay information across a city when towers are overwhelmed or destroyed.

🏙️

Urban outage

Moscow. A modern city where everything ran on an app. The network failed. Restaurants, dispatchers, deliveries — all stopped. Millions of devices sat silent, perfectly capable of talking to each other.

🏕️

Remote operations

Festivals, field work, expeditions, construction sites — anywhere cellular coverage is absent or overloaded.

🔌

Infrastructure failure

Power outages, fiber cuts, equipment failure. A digital city is only resilient if its communication layer can survive what its infrastructure cannot.

What it does

Everything you need,
without the infrastructure

Encrypted mesh chat

End-to-end encrypted messages travel between devices directly. No account, no phone number, no server reading your words. Messages are signed and verified at every hop.

Store-and-forward delivery

Messages are held by intermediate devices and delivered when a path becomes available — even hours later. The system never gives up on delivery. It just waits for an opportunity.

Bulletin board

Post public information to a local scope — shelter locations, road conditions, safety updates — visible to everyone in range without a server hosting it.

Offline payments (experimental)

MeshCoin (MXC) is an experimental utility token that allows basic transactions to settle on the mesh. No bank, no payment processor, no internet required. Not for real-value transactions during beta.

Location sharing

Share your GPS coordinates once, on request, into any conversation. No continuous tracking. No data leaving your device without your knowledge.

Panic wipe

One tap in Settings immediately deletes all messages, your identity key, and all stored data. For situations where that matters.

How it works

Your devices already speak
to each other. Mycelium is the language.

1

Install on Android

No account. No phone number. Your identity is a cryptographic key that lives only on your device.

2

Connect via WiFi or Bluetooth

Nearby devices running Mycelium find each other automatically. The relay server handles connections over the internet when available.

3

Communicate

Messages travel from device to device. Each phone becomes a relay for others. The network builds itself.

4

When internet fails, nothing changes

The app switches to local mesh automatically. Reduced range, same features.

Our story
"It started with a thought about a person in Africa too poor for a bank account — but holding a phone. Then: what if their internet disappeared? Moscow went dark one day. A city full of devices, perfectly capable of talking to each other. No software to let them. That's what Mycelium is."
